Dogs who are attending the 2-week training program will be taught all the basic obedience commands including sit, stay, come, heel, down, automatic sit, sit/stay and down/stay. Any behavioral problems will be discussed with owner and addressed during training, i.e. mouthing, jumping, barking, etc.
The second week of training focuses on socialization skills. Dogs are worked in several public areas, and are exposed to various environments and distractions.
All training is conducted using positive reinforcement techniques. When training program is complete, the owner is required to attend a final session with their dog and the trainer. Training techniques will be explained and the owner will be shown how to handle their dog. It should be stressed that upon completion of training program, it is important that the owner remain consistent with proper training techniques.
