Dogs Available for Adoption

The current list of our available Chance Foundation dogs for adoption can be found on petfinder.com.

Romeo & Juliet

Romeo and Juliet are a brother and sister pair. They are very affectionate, playful happy dogs who would love to go to a loving family where they will be able to get plenty of exercise. They will either need to be leash walked on a regular basis or preferably, have a secure fenced yard. (They don't like cats)! Romeo is the "quieter" of the two while Juliet is a bit more playful, and they are both very loving and snuggly with people. They both have very distinct, wonderful personalities who want nothing more than to run and play with each other by day and snuggle on the couch with you by night. Juliet is a bit of a goof, if you pet her she will lean lean on you and then collapse on the ground, begging for belly rubs. Romeo is much more "regal" than his sister and just wants to give delicate kisses and sit in your lap to be petted.

They are coming along very well with their obedience training and are very sweet and affectionate.
They can go to separate homes as long as we feel they will be much loved and cared for. They want to be part of a family.

They will chase cats and rabbits and cannot go to a home with either. They would also do best in an adult home as they are not accustomed to children and may be nervous around them.

If you are interested in adopting Romeo or Juliet, please go to www.countryclubkennels.com and fill out our adoption application, which can be emailed, faxed or snailmailed to us. Thank you for your interest!

Muffin

My name is Muffin! I am an incredibly cute, white, female beagle w/ brown ears. My coat is very soft and I still have some loose skin on me which makes me very huggable! I love attention from people and play well w/ active dogs. In typical beagle fashion….I have a wonderful disposition and by the way, did I mention how cute I am?!! I would love to have a family to dote on me! I would do best in a home where I will receive plenty of exercise and attention. I don't want to be left home alone all day! Are you the one for me?

Andrew

Breed: Mountain Cur
Gender: Male
Age: Adult
Dog Friendly: Yes
Cat Friendly: Unknown

Andrew – I am a very handsome boy and have been told that I am a “Mountain Cur”. Many people aren’t familiar w/ that breed, but it is a hunting breed from up in the “mountains”! Unfortunately, my previous owner dumped me off at a local shelter saying “He don’t hunt”! He also didn’t think I earned my food since I wasn’t interested in hunting…so he didn’t feed me much. When The Chance Foundation initially rescued me, I was skin and bones, but I have filled out now and look fantastic. I have been described as looking similar to a miniature Great Dane. I am good natured, and very good w/ other dogs. I am probably about 5 years old and would love to learn what it’s like to be a beloved member of a family. Won’t you consider me?

Austin

Austin is an adorable, little, Beagle mix puppy. He is probably about 12 weeks old as of 5/3/08. His markings are that of a Beagle and he has short legs, but he has a big head! He is incredibly cute and sweet natured. Because he is a puppy, we will need to find him a home where someone will be home a good part of the day to take him out and give him the attention a puppy requires.

Tanner

Tanner is a very handsome, male, Dalmation in search of a loving home. We don’t know much about his background, however, it is apparent that he has had a rough time. When we rescued him, he was very shy, but so sweet. His coat had oil stains on it which makes us think he possibly was tied out to a car/truck somewhere. He wants so much to love and trust and is making a lot of progress w/ us. After getting cleaned up (it took several sudsings)….we found a gorgeous, very regal, gentleman under all the dirt. Tanner would make a very loyal, devoted, low maintenance friend for someone special. He does not have the typical “high energy” which most Dalmations are known for. We think he would just love to be loved!

Cupcake

Cupcake is a 7 week old, Pitbull puppy as of 5/3/08. We rescued her from the local SPCA where she was found w/ only one eye. We don’t know if she was born w/ only one eye or if she had some sort of illness or injury to the eye, but we do know that she is about the sweetest puppy we’ve ever met! She loves to be held, loves to give gentle kisses and is just a true lover! She is good w/ dogs and loves people. Because she is a puppy, she will need to go to a home where someone is home during the day or can take her to work as she will need to go out every couple of hours. We would like to find an experienced dog person who intends to continue w/ her training and socialization so that she can be a “poster dog” for the Pitbull breed.

Sarga

Breed: Border Collie/Husky?/Canaan?
Gender: Female
Age: Young Adult
Dog Friendly: Yes
Cat Friendly: Probably

Sarga – I am a very beautiful, female in search of a gentle, forever home. I was a stray at the local SPCA when I was rescued by The Chance Foundation. I was very shy and didn’t trust humans very much. Once they took me in they also realized I was pregnant! They helped me whelp four healthy, gorgeous puppies. Now it’s my turn. I have overcome a lot of my fears and would like to find a home preferably w/ another friendly dog (male or female) as I very much enjoy the company of other dogs. It is believed that I may be a mix between Border Collie and Husky or possibly even a Canaan dog. After all I’ve been through I am still a very gentle natured girl and would make a wonderful companion if someone would just give me a chance.

Dixie

Breed: Pug mix
Gender: Female
Age: Adult
Dog Friendly: Yes
Cat Friendly: Unknown

Dixie – I am an adorable, female, Pug mix. I am very good w/ other dogs and great w/ people. I am only about 15 lbs., cute as a button and would love to go to a home where I will receive lots of love and attention. I am probably ok w/ cats, too!

Ripley

Breed: Labrador Retriever
Gender: Female
Age: Young Adult
Dog Friendly: Yes
Cat Friendly: Yes

Ripley – I am a very cute, female, Labrador Retriever. There is a chance I may have a little something mixed in, but if so….not much. I LOVE people, love to play, love dogs and am learning my basic obedience commands. I am very good natured. I was given up by my previous owner when they suspected I may have a “plumbing” problem which caused me to “leak” once in a while. While I have been w/ The Chance Foundation, they haven’t seen much of this…only a very occasional dribble. I am on some new meds to see if this will fix the problem. If not….they will pursue other avenues in hopes that someone special will give me a loving home. If someone special were interested in me now….I would do just fine in a home where I had plenty of opportunity to go outside and when I’m inside…..just keep me off carpets. (It’s not a big problem…..just a very occasional dribble). I really hope this doesn ‘t keep me from ever having a home because I have an awful lot of love to give and am really a great dog!

Casper

Breed: Samoyed/Chowx
Age: Seniort – 8-10 yrs.
Gender: Male
Dog Friendly: Yes
Cat Friendly: Probably

My name is Casper. It is believed that I am a Samoyed mixed w/ Chow Chow. My and my best friend (a Chihuahua mix named Pooch) were rescued after living on chains all of our lives. We are happy now and learning that life can be good and people can care about us. We also are loving the fact that we can be inside w/ a warm, cozy bed instead of living outside in the freezing cold! If all my dreams were to come true....Pooch and I would be adopted together as we really LOVE eachother. I have taken care of Pooch for many years and he depends on me alot. The people at The Chance Foundation are surprised that I am such a happy-go-lucky, friendly dog after living such a hard life. Would you like to help make up for all the good times that I have missed?

Aaron

Breed: Rotweiler
Gender: Male
Age: Adult (approx. 8)
Dog Friendly: Yes
Cat Friendly: Unknown

Aaron – I am a very handsome, male Rotweiler in need of a loving home. I used to have a home, but I was kept outside on a chain w/ a dog house that I couldn’t even fit into. My Dad used to take care of me (a little)…but when he left, my Mom didn’t feel like going outside to feed me so there were many times that I went without food. The neighbors were kind enough to feed me sometimes, but nobody really wanted me or loved me enough to commit to feeding me daily. The people at The Chance Foundation are shocked at how forgiving I am and that after being neglected by people in the past…..I am incredibly good natured. I love people and love to be touched, rubbed, petted on…..anything….just keep your hands on me! I am also good w/ other dogs. I am probably about 8 years old, don’t require a lot of exercise and am very laid back. I would make a wonderful, devoted companion and won’t ask for much…just a little love and attention and a daily meal. Pls. consider me.

Scooby

Breed: Beagle
Age: Senior –
Gender: Male
Dog Friendly: Yes
Cat Friendly: Yes

My name is Scooby! I am a very dignified beagle in search of a forever home. I came into the local SPCA along w/ another beagle. He got adopted, but I didn't. The staff at the SPCA knew I was very special, so they let me stay alot longer than many dogs get to in hopes that someone special would come along for me. Finally, The Chance Foundation came and took me into their rescue as they are very fond of Beagles! I am w/ them now and am hoping to find a loving family to take me in to live out the rest of my years. I am very sweet natured, handsome and would make a wonderful companion. I am pretty low key compared to many. I enjoy a good outing, but I also love to snuggle on the couch w/ someone special. Could you be the one for me?

Liddy

Breed: English Setter
Gender: Female
Age: Adult
Dog Friendly: Yes
Cat Friendly: Unknown

Liddy – My name is Liddy. I am a beautiful, female, liver & white English Setter. I am very friendly and am great w/ people and dogs. I am very energetic and need to go to a home that will give me plenty of exercise. I would do best in a loving home where someone will either leash walk me (as I can jump some fences) or where they will accompany me when I’m outside in a nice, fenced yard. I am really good natured and very snuggly!

Pooch

Breed: Chihuahua
Age: Senior
Gender: Male
Dog Friendly: Yes
Cat Friendly: Yes

My name is Pooch. I am a Chihuahua mix who has had the misfortune of living my life at the end of a chain. My previous owner admited that he would feed me and my best friend, Casper ... "every other day or so"!. We have now joined the nice people at The Chance Foundation and are learning that life can be good and people can care about us. We also are loving the fact that we can be inside w/ a warm, cozy bed instead of living outside in the freezing cold! Would you like to help make up for all the good times that I have missed?

Snuggles

Breed: Beagle
Gender: Female
Age: Adult
Dog Friendly: Yes
Cat Friendly: Yes

Snuggles – I am a cute, chubby, female Beagle in search of a loving family. I am about four years old, good w/ dogs and people, and would enjoy a home where I will have a nice yard to explore. My friend Snuffles and I were housed at the local SPCA together and became great friends. We would make a cute pair if someone were to consider adopting us together, but I could go alone….if it were a special, loving home.

Lady

Lady is a very cute, white German Shepherd female. She is very small for a GSD, so she could be mixed with something else. That something else is ADORABLE!!! Poor Lady has been living in a garage for most of her life as her previous owners didn’t like having dog hair in the house. (I thought that was what vacuums were for!) Lady has been brought up w/ children and is incredibly good natured. She craves attention, however, as she didn’t get much of it prior to arriving at The Chance Foundation. She is a bit “hefty” right now as she also didn’t get the exercise she needs, but she will tone up soon. She is a happy girl who is eager to please. We call her “Smiley Face” as she constantly wears a big grin!

Garmany

Garmany is a gorgeous border collie, about 2 years old. She was found tied to a post w/ a belt. Her owners moved away and left her tied out, with no food or water, and with her litter of four day old puppies! She is safe now and is enjoying knowing what it feels like to be loved. She has a gentle nature about her and is very grateful for any attention she gets. Garmany needs to go to a home w/ gentle, caring people who will give her the attention and exercise she needs.

Don Juio

Don Julio is a 9 year old Chihuahua who was given up for getting grumpy with a small child. He takes to men better but will warm up to women after he gets to know them. He gets along well with other dogs and loves going for walks. While he’s a bit chunky at the moment….he is on a diet and is on his way to being fit and trim. Right now….there’s just more to love!

Heather1HeatherHeather2

I was found as a stray on Thanksgiving Day 2003 along with another liver?spotted Dalmatian, Laurel, and taken to a county shelter. Just before "our time was up" my foster parents, who live in Leesburg, Virginia, traveled a great distance to come to our rescue. The veterinarian says that I am about 3?5 years old. I am spayed, up?to?date on all my shots, and micro?chipped. I am also housebroken and not the least bit food aggressive. I don't enjoy the company of other dogs but I have unlimited affection for adults. To demonstrate this affection, I give big wet kisses and I actually "grin" sometimes. How cute is that! I am an active girl who enjoys going for walks and I also have a calm, gentle side that just wants to snuggle and be your best friend. With me, you get the best of all worlds. I haven't had a lot of stability in my life and now my current parent is moving. I desperately wish to find a loving home where I can become a permanent member of the family. No more living on the edge for me. This brief bio cannot possibly capture all of my wonderful qualities so, if you are interested in adopting me, please send an e?mail to leesburgrices@cs.com. I look forward to showing off my big, beautiful smile. THIS IS A COURTESY POST. IF INTERESTED IN HEATHER PLEASE CONTACT RTandDogs@aol.com and/or Leesburgrices@cs.com
