You may have read about a mama dog, Cassie, and two of her pups we recently rescued - their story an extremely frustrating and sad case that's repeated far too often ... one of abuse, neglect, and lack of teeth in enforcement laws that ultimately led to the death of three of Cassie's pupppies. For more on that story, click here to read the previous blog post. We also have some messages and discussion threads on our Facebook Page about Cassie and her pups getting lots of attention. Everyone's passion about this particular situation is heartfelt and greatly appreciated.
Now, with several weeks at The Chance Foundation under their belts, Cassie, an American Staffordshire Terrier, and her two remaining pups are doing well, getting lots of love and attention ... and of course looking for forever homes (the pups will be available for adoption as of March 1). Now, the puppies need names, so we thought we'd ask YOU for help naming them! Nothing more fun and smile inducing than puppies. And these two are as adorable as they come.
So here's the deal: give us your best ideas for names for each - both boys, call it a black one and brown one. Leave your name suggestions in this thread on Facebook, on our Facebook wall as a message ... or in the comment section of this blog post. If left on Facebook, hopefully we can contact you by Direct Message if your suggestions are chosen. If left here, make sure you 'sign in' with an email address. Better yet, email carlacck@aol.com with your suggestions - in addition to leaving them here and on Facebook - so you're assured we can contact you. The person who suggests the best names (we'll pick through and choose) will receive two free boarding days at Country Club Kennels. Ultimately, the goal is to spread the word about Cassie's story ... make sure this doesn't happen again ... and turn this horrible situation into a much better one, celebrating the precious lives of these puppies and their mama.
So please help us 'name the puppies', and please share their story with others. One simple way is to 'Like' this post so it's shared with your Facebook Friends. You can also 'Tweet' it on Twitter, or click the G+ button if you're on Google Plus. Complete contest rules below this cute as a button picture!
Contest rules: This is meant to be a fun, creative and easy on the rules contest. CCK&T staff will choose from all puppy name suggestions posted here and anywhere on our Facebook Page. We'll take suggestions until Saturday Feb 11th at midnight, and then pick Sunday/Monday. Winner receives two free boarding days at CCK&T. Any questions, contact us via contact tab info on this website. * This promotion is in no way sponsored, endorsed or administered by, or associated with Facebook.

I think the names Will and Spero are fitting for these puppies. Will for the strong willed dog who is determined to overcome hardships and survive. Spero is the latin word for hope and these two puppies exemplify a will to live and the hope for a happy, loving future.

Carla - You are absolutely amazing! Thank you so much for saving mom and babies. I know they are in a safe place now. How about Asher (brown pup) and Benedict (Benny for short - black pup) both meaning Lucky - or Shilo (black pup)and Theodore (Teddy - brown pup) both meaning gift.

Name the puppies Butter Bean and Oreo. Or, Eeyore (the brown one) and Snoopdog.

Bless you for savings these little creatures and their Mom. My suggestions, the brown one, Phoenix and the black one Valentino because he looks likes he's giving kisses in the picture and because it's close to Valentine's Day.

Oh once again you remind me why I know the only place for my little bundle of love is Country Club Kennels! I think the names Will and Spero are fitting. I am so happy that the three dogs were able to escape that horrid place.I will never ever understand people who do see that these animals are the Lords blessed creatures who deserve all the love and care that humans do.
Melita and I send you oodles of love and licks,
Melissa

Carla you and your team are wonderful and the world is a better place because of what you do to help them.
They will have the best care with you and I know you will find them a warm and loving home.
I would like to name the black one Victory and for the brown one, Cedric.
Again thank you for all of your hard work and also taking such good care of my dogs when they come to stay.

I saw the picture of Cassie and her puppies and it just melted my heart to know that they are safe from such harsh conditions! Thank-you Carla! I have two special names from two special boys in my life, BUSTER and MATT. First, Buster (in memory) was so special and had a fantastic life filled with love - just like I hope for the puppies to have. Second, my role model, Matt(hew) is my brother who is kind, smart and very strong!! I think that these names are perfect for these boys. MATT and BUSTER. Also, I am doing another bake sale for The Chance Foundation this Saturday. I am hoping to come out and give you the money in person. Also, to meet these wonderful dogs (If possible). Thank you for all that you do for EVERY one of the foundation's dogs. I am going to be baking my tush off tonight with all the dogs in mind. <3--Annie, MATT and BUSTER

Black one, "Gunther" (brave warrior), and Brown one, "Ivan" (gift from God).

Baldwin for the brown one-means bold and courageous friend
Caleb for black one-actuslly means dog in Hebrew
Sounds good to me for two fine brothers Baldwin and Caleb who have the great fortune to be blessedand rescued by such a loving person. Carla God Bless you and all you and your organization does. I am so grateful to have been touched by your love and grace over the past 14+years.
Jean Antle- They are so precious!

Gilbert and Godfrey. Kind of look like a gilbert and godfrey. Again too fine names for brothers. These are old English names and if I recall correctly and I may be wrong, that the Straffordshire terriers were began in England. Now I'll have to go research it a bit more. Ok gilbert for brown one and godfrey fro black one. Loving it already.....just need to get out the top hats and smoking jackets for them-tee-hee.
Gilbert means bright wish.
Godfrey means peace of God.
I think I like this better than my last suggestion.
