About Us

Country Club Kennels & Training is a one-of-a-kind boarding and training facility with locations in Fauquier and Orange County, Virginia. Depending on whether your pet's visit is for boarding or training, we provide:

• Personalized, Loving Care for Your Special Pet
• Luxurious boarding accommodations in a stress-free country environment where fun, games, exercise, love and attention abound
• Private one-on-one lessons tailored toward you and your dog's specific needs
• A comprehensive 2-week obediece training program using positive reinforcement methods while also working on socialization skills. This books quickly and availability is limited (booked through end of 2011). 

You no longer have to feel guilty when you go on vacation and can't take your pet with you.  Now your loved one can go on their own vacation at Country Club Kennels & Training!  We offer a unique alternative to standard boarding kennels.   The Fauquier location, owned and operated by Carla Nammack, is situated on 45 peaceful, country acres in southern Fauquier County.  The Locust Grove/Orange County location is owned and operated by Austin and Linda Nammack. Both facilities focus on quality over quantity. Make reservations early as we book quickly.

Our number of guests are limited so we provide each of our special friends with all the time, attention and pampering anyone could possibly want.  In addition to generous amounts of outdoor playtime (6-7x per day at no additional charge) ... we offer additional services and activities like Pool Parties, Nature Walks, Pond Trips, Massage, Grooming and Taxi Service.  Visit our Boarding/Reservations/Rates/Activities tab for details.

2nd Annual Bow Wow Poker Bike Run to Benefit Chance Foundation

The 2nd annual Bow Wow Poker Bike Run, benefitting The Chance Foundation, the all-breed dog rescue arm of Country Club Kennels & Training, will take place Saturday, August 17 2013. Last year, some 100 TCF supporters and motorcycle enthusiasts took part in the innaugural event (pictured, and see pictures on Facebook), raising cash and awareness for our efforts to help homeless, neglected and abused dogs.

The ride will start at Colgan Powersports in Manassas, and end at Glory Days Grill in Gainesville. Registration will kick off at 9am on day of the event, and last motorcyle will leave at 10am. ALL motorcycles are welcome! Cost is $20 per rider, $15 per passenger, to benefit The Chance Foundation. Help us raise even more funds by dining at Glory Days Grill. The restaurant will contribute 10% of your total food purchases (March 1 - Aug 17 2013) to The Chance Foundation. Simply ask your server for a copy of your guest check and mail to: The Chance Foundation, 10739 Bristersburg Rd, Catlett VA 20119 or give them directly to Sharon Farr on August 17th at the end of the Bow Wow Poker Bike Run, which ends at Glory Days Grill in Manassas.

Chance Dog Spotlight: Hank!

Our Chance Foundation rescue in the spotlight is Hank, a 7 year old yellow lab in search of a loving home. He knows all of his obedience commands and is housebroken. He's a very well mannered boy and would like to live the second part of his life as a member of a loving family.

Hank may be seven but as you can see from his picture, he's still full of life, and has so much love to give to the right family. He needed cruciate ligament surgery when he first came to us (cost to us: $4,000), and has made a full recovery. Please consider Hank for your home...and if you can't adopt him, please share his story with other so we can find this special guy the home he deserves! Thank you for your help!!

Meet Jenny! Chance Foundation Rescue Spotlight

This week's Chance Foundation rescue in the spotlight is Jenny! She's a 3 year old lab/corgi mix with a very "bouncy" personaity who loves to run and play. She's also one of the smartest dogs TCF has had the privilege to work with. She knows most of her basic commands (sit, stay, down etc) as well as a few extra tricks (roll over, turn left/right, and shake!). Her capabilities are endless! Jenny is also improving on her leash manners.

We at TCF feel she'd make a great running companion, or be a perfect fit for someone with a busy lifestyle. Jenny has a lot of energy, so she'll need a place where she can run and play, safely. She's still learning, so she'll also need someone who's willing and able to brush her up on some of her training. She's a truly lovely girl ... and is still looking for a forever home! Could it be yours???

Chance Foundation Spotlight: Casey and Jenny Need A Home!

We're going to regularly spotlight some of our Chance Foundation rescues in this blog, pulled from our Available Dogs page, in an effort to bring them out into the open ... and make it easier for caring friends to share them with via Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest and G+.  You'll notice at the bottom of each blog post, you're given the option to 'Like' the post on Facebook, share it via Twitter or Google+, or Pin it to your Pinterest page. If you're into Pinterest, and apparently many of you are (especially you ladies!), have you thought about creating a 'Dog Rescues' board, to pin pics and bios of dogs from TCF and other rescue orgs?  Just a thought!  If you're not able to adopt one of our super special Chance dogs, you can be a tremendous help to us by  sharing their stories and pictures on your social networks.  There are other ways you can help our efforts at The Chance Foundation ... from food and financial donations to spending time one-one-one with them ... taking them on nature walks, to help them adjust to people and get love and excercise.

My name is Jenny and Im a 3 year old labrador retriever/beagle mix. I am very friendly and outgoing, just your typical happy go lucky girl. I have lots of energy and would love to go to a home where I will get adequate exercise. I'm only about 40 pounds and would make a great family pet!

 

My name is Casey and I am a cute little Visla mix. I am about 4-5 years old and up to date on all my shots. I am a sweet, friendly boy and get along well with dogs and people. I am looking for a home that will keep me busy, as I am still a young boy. I love going for walks and running around. I lived with a family of children and was great with them, however I do get a little possessive of my bones and toys so the previous owner recommends that I be placed in a home without young children. I know all my commands. Please consider me, I am a fun, playful little dog!

We had a special surprise Sunday when the Kutyna family (Annie, Doug and Sandy) came to the kennel to give us a very nice donation for The Chance Foundation after Annie (with the help of her parents) held a very successful bake sale with all proceeds being donated to help us help the many, needy dogs we take in. Annie is featured in the video with Cassie and pups (we have since selected the names Will and Winston from the "name that puppy" contest).

February Newsletter - Stopping Dog/Animal Abuse

Our February newsletter is focused on dog abuse, how you can help dogs and other animals who are being neglected, abused and/or forced to live in inhumane conditions.  Click here to view the newsletter online.  It has important information to equip all of us in this critically important battle.

Many of you have been following the story of Cassie and her puppies ... how they were left in a delapitated dog house in freezing weather, leading to the freezing deaths of two pups. We were able to step in and save Cassie and her two remaining pups by purchasing them from their abuseful owner. All in all, it was a frustrating and painful lesson in how little teeth our laws have, so we wanted to equip you with enough information so you know what to do - and what not to do - in situations like these. Please read the newsletter and be equipped in the ongoing battle to stop dog abuse. 

When we published the newsletter a few days ago, we hadn't yet picked names for the two pups. Thanks to all the wonderful suggestions, we settled on Will(iam) and Winston.  And we'll be awarding some free boarding days to those who suggested those names.  Also, look for a follow-up post with a heartwarming video taken with a family who, moved by this story, raised money for The Chance Foundation.  It's the first 'live footage' of Cassie and her pups, and you won't want to miss it!

Name These Puppies!

You may have read about a mama dog, Cassie, and two of her pups we recently rescued - their story an extremely frustrating and sad case that's repeated far too often ... one of abuse, neglect, and lack of teeth in enforcement laws that ultimately led to the death of three of Cassie's pupppies.  For more on that story, click here to read the previous blog post.  We also have some messages and discussion threads on our Facebook Page about Cassie and her pups getting lots of attention.  Everyone's passion about this particular situation is heartfelt and greatly appreciated.

Now, with several weeks at The Chance Foundation under their belts, Cassie, an American Staffordshire Terrier, and her two remaining pups are doing well, getting lots of love and attention ... and of course looking for forever homes (the pups will be available for adoption as of March 1).  Now, the puppies need names, so we thought we'd ask YOU for help naming them!  Nothing more fun and smile inducing than puppies.  And these two are as adorable as they come.

 

So here's the deal:  give us your best ideas for names for each - both boys, call it a black one and brown one.   Leave your name suggestions in this thread on Facebook, on our Facebook wall as a message ... or in the comment section of this blog post.  If left on Facebook, hopefully we can contact you by Direct Message if your suggestions are chosen.   If left here, make sure you 'sign in' with an email address.  Better yet, email carlacck@aol.com with your suggestions - in addition to leaving them here and on Facebook - so you're assured we can contact you.  The person who suggests the best names (we'll pick through and choose) will receive two free boarding days at Country Club Kennels.  Ultimately, the goal is to spread the word about Cassie's story ...  make sure this doesn't happen again ... and turn this horrible situation into a much better one, celebrating the precious lives of these puppies and their mama.
